Easter Sunday baking.

Early Cup Cake with Gooey Ganache filling and a Whipped Raspberry Cream Turd on top. That was 2 batches of 32 cup cakes each within 2 weeks… that will do it for a while.

This bread is GOOD!

Really liked the bread which I made for Shelby’s birthday. It has it all: Artisan Flour (European style), whole wheat and rye flour, water, milk and mineral water, plus yeast and raw sugar plus salt. Baked at 450°F with several ice cubes giving initial steam and allowing moisture to be trapped within.

Meringues.

These days all seems to be about food. But I did have 6 egg whites left over from making the cheese cakes. What better than meringues? Waking memories of childhood.

Advertising vs Reality.

Bought yesterday this box of cereal which shows a lot of nuts and cranberries. Today when I opened the box my first thought was that they must have forgotten to add these. But then I found one cranberry. Guess I also found reality.

Little bits.

We went to HOULIAN’s for dinner, eating our way through appetizers, mini-entrees and a dessert for three. Much better food than the Greek the other day. Ended his birthday with watching SHUTTER ISLAND to which I’d only give a 2 star rating.
