Here we go. Long trip home.

Some last checking of email, slowly waking up.

Nice dinner in Kloten with my dad and Anna. A good way to say good-bye.

Liked it this time much better here than as a teenager.

Arrival at our last hotel stay in Italy. This time in Florence before heading tomorrow back to Zurich, Switzerland.

Last night at the ocean. Midway between Rome and Florence I found this place to stay. Season is obviously over, but we caught one of the last great warm evenings out.

What a day. Last time I was here was 32 years ago. Not sure if I walked more then or now.

This was the place we all actually wanted to stay. The few hotels in town way over budget. Enjoyed the day a lot, but we will move on.

Looking not far to the end of the valley of Lauterbrunnen nor the mountain peaks but straight down from the little road to the chalet.

Countless times have I gazed this gaze. Only few hours apart the light and color changes are vast. The Lauterbrunnen valley and some of its surrounding peaks.

A Stöckli corresponds somewhat to an in-law stay. Such a Stöckli is often used when the parents get older and move out of the large house to have the kids be there with their own family. My cousin laid herself this beautiful stone-path in hard labor.

It’s the one to the left. Chalet Sunnehalde, built by our family ancestors, turned 100 years.
